 HISTORY
We have the test over Ancient China on Monday. The study guide was sent home on Friday (11/15). This Test will be OPEN NOTE/STUDY GUIDE. :) We are concentrating on showing your child HOW to take a test and different strategies. After the test, we begin our unit on Ancient Greece! Ancient Greece is one of the most significant civilizations we study in second grade. This was the beginning of democracy, the Olympics, and is the foundation of so much of what your child will study as they progress through Archway and into the Prep. Next week we will begin with a lesson on the geography of Ancient Greece and then talk about the city-state of Athens.
SCIENCE
We are excited to study insects next week! We will be introduced to several insects and learn what makes an insect an insect! Ask your child what body parts an insect has.

MATHWe are placing our focus on simple division this week! For this entire unit, we are explaining the basics of how to divide and multiply before heading into the fact families. This way your child will understand how to take apart and solve each problem, even if they don't have their facts memorized quite yet!

With Grateful Hearts,
Mrs. Guevara and Mr. Kiehne
